Rafael Leao snubs Everton, Wolves for Milan?

Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly failed in their efforts to sign Lille forward Rafael Leao.

As a result of contributing eight goals and three assists from 24 outings in Ligue 1 last season, the 20-year-old has become one of the most sought-after prospects in European football.

There has been interest from the Premier League, with Everton and Wolves both said to have been monitoring the situation as they look to boost their forward lines.

However, L'Equipe claims that AC Milan have won the race for the Portuguese's signature, with the player due to pen a five-year contract at San Siro.

The report adds that Milan are willing to spend €35m (£31.51m) on Leao, while Lille have also insisted that a 20% resale clause is included in the deal.

If and when a transfer is completed, it will increase Milan's need to make a significant sale, which could help Wolves in their attempts to sign Patrick Cutrone.
