Wolverhampton Wanderers have claimed an emphatic 3-0 win over Brentford in Tuesday's Championship clash at Molineux.
The hosts were quick out of the starting blocks and nearly opened the scoring two minutes in, only for Leo Bonatini to strike the foot of the Brentford post from six yards.
Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota and Matt Doherty all tested goalkeeper Daniel Bentley with a number of efforts, while at the other end, Sergi Canos tried his luck from distance and Yoann Barbet saw his header deflected wide.
Brentford, however, had Bentley to thank for keeping the scores level come the break, the stopper spectacularly tipping away a first-time volley from Jota on 38 minutes.
The game remained goalless until the 57th minute, when Neves broke the deadlock with a free kick over the Bees' wall and into the top corner of the net.
Two minutes later, Wolves managed to double their lead, Ivan Cavaleiro's low ball across the Brentford box finding Barry Douglas, who struck with a first-time finish high into the net.
Nuno Espirito Santo's charges killed the game off in the 80th minute when Cavaleiro's deep corner was played into the middle of the visitors' box, where Jota was on hand to turn home from point-blank range.
The result, a 10th win out of 12 games for Wolves, sees the Championship leaders open up a 12-point gap at the top of the table.
Elsewhere in the Championship on Tuesday night, Fulham cruised to a 4-1 win over Ipswich Town, while Birmingham gave their survival hopes a boost with a 2-0 win at Reading.
