Nottingham Forest ease to win over Wolverhampton Wanderers

Goals from Britt Assombalonga, Matty Fryatt and Henri Lansbury guide Nottingham Forest to a 3-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in their Championship clash at Molineux.

Nottingham Forest secured their second win in a row in the Championship this afternoon as they scored three goals in the second half to defeat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 at Molineux.

Danny Graham had the first chance of the game for the home side when he collected David Edwards's cross, and he managed to fire a low effort at goal, which was saved by Karl Darlow.

Kenny Jackett's men continued to press and Graham was once again the focal point of their attack, as his contested header with Michael Mancienne fell to James Henry, whose volley went just over the bar.

Forest responded to the pressure from Wolves with the best opportunity of the game as Henri Lansbury drilled an effort at goal from 25 yards, but Carl Ikeme tipped the ball onto the post.

Ikeme was forced into action again minutes later as the home side failed to clear their lines from a cross into the box. The ball fell to Matty Fryatt who guided an effort towards the bottom corner, but the keeper was on hand to push the ball wide.

In the second half, Wolves managed to get back on the front foot when Graham peeled off his man and fired the ball across the face of goal, but Edwards just couldn't reach the ball to poke it into the empty net.

Stuart Pearce's men also came close when Lansbury broke upfield but was well tackled by Richard Stearman. Chris Burke kept the attack alive as he fed Lansbury, but the midfielder fired his effort straight at Ikeme.

Forest did take the lead in the 65th minute when Lansbury again pushed forward into the final third of the pitch, and he cut the ball back to Britt Assombalonga, who slotted the ball past Ikeme.

The visitors doubled their advantage minutes later as Lansbury whipped a corner into the area, and Matty Fryatt rose highest in the six-yard box to power a header into the net.

Forest secured their win in the 83rd minute when Michail Antonio raided upfield and his cutback into the area fell for Lansbury, who placed an effort past Ikeme.
