David Edwards has conceded that the Wolverhampton Wanderers playing squad are "ashamed" by their performances this season.
The Molineux-based side were relegated to the Championship last month with three matches remaining.
Reflecting on the campaign, Edwards has admitted that the players have let down everybody connected with the club.
"The fans feel just the same as us – we're ashamed, we're upset and we're disappointed at the way we played because the manager has put faith in the players he selects and we haven't been good enough this season," said the 26-year-old.
"We feel we've let the club down as a whole from the people at the top, to [interim manager Terry Connor]."
Wolves take on Wigan Athletic next Sunday in what will be their final match as a Premier League club for at least a year.
