Stale Solbakken "disappointed" to have lost Wolverhampton Wanderers job

Solbakken: "I've never felt so bad"

Stale Solbakken has revealed that he feels "so sorry" for losing his managerial job at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 44-year-old was dismissed from his post at Molineux on Saturday, hours after losing 1-0 to non-league side Luton Town in the FA Cup third round.

"I feel so sorry, I have never felt so bad because I love working here, and because there will be much better times ahead and I will not be part of it," Solbakken told the Express & Star. "I'm very, very disappointed to have lost my job at this time."

Meanwhile, the Championship club have confirmed the appointment of Dean Saunders as Solbakken's replacement.
