Rob Edwards to remain in charge for Wolves' clash with Derby County

Wolverhampton Wanderers announce that caretaker boss Rob Edwards will remain in charge of the first team for the Championship match with Derby County.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have revealed that Rob Edwards will remain in charge of the side for Saturday's fixture with Derby County.

The West Midlands outfit are currently without a permanent manager after the sacking of Walter Zenga, with Edwards currently overseeing first-team matters on a caretaker basis.

Former Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert has been strongly linked with the position and bookmakers have suspended betting with an appointment said to be imminent, but on Thursday afternoon Wolves confirmed that Edwards would be in the dugout for a second game.

Edwards began what is likely to be temporary reign with a 1-1 draw away at Blackburn Rovers last weekend.

The result has left Wolves - now owned by Chinese conglomerate Fosun International - in 17th position in the league table.
