Ethan Ebanks-Landell hoping to become regular starter for Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Ethan Ebanks-Landell says that he is targeting a spot in Kenny Jackett's starting lineup after returning from injury.

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Ethan Ebanks-Landell has set his sights on nailing down a regular place in Kenny Jackett's starting lineup.

The 22-year-old returned from a two-month injury layoff at the start of December and has impressed alongside captain Danny Batth in central defence, scoring in his second game back against Nottingham Forest on Friday.

Ebanks-Landell was later at fault as Dexter Blackstock grabbed an equaliser, however, allowing the visitors to claim a point in the dying stages of the match.

"It was a tough one to swallow," he told the Wolves website. "I thought we had the better chances and I had a few myself as well as the goal. I take full responsibility for their goal because it was my man at the back stick.

"It was a sloppy goal to concede because set pieces are so important. But I relished the battle with the Forest forwards, I have been waiting for this chance and I want to stay in the team.

"I've been out for a while and am just hoping to show the fans what I can do again. I know I have to play well to stay in. No-one's place is safe, there is always someone pushing... so I just have to carry on doing what I am doing."

Wolves, who sit 14th in the Championship, next welcome Leeds United to Molineux on Thursday night.
