Cavaleiro credits Nuno for recent form

Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Ivan Cavaleiro has acknowledged that head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has played an important role in his return to form this season.

Cavaleiro endured a mixed first campaign at Molineux, but the Portuguese forward has looked a different player under the guidance of his compatriot, who replaced Paul Lambert in the summer.

The former Monaco man has scored four goals in his last three appearances, and Cavaleiro has described Nuno as a "very important person" in his development.

The 24-year-old told Record: "We had a conversation when he arrived at the club. He told me he wanted to help me grow as a player and make a better season than the last.

"He's been a very important person to me. He and his technical staff – they are all concerned with our physical and personal wellbeing. Fortunately, it has gone very well. We understand each other in attack, I hope it continues."

Wolves currently sit four points clear at the top of the Championship standings.
