Bookies slash Mick McCarthy sack odds

Bookmakers have slashed the odds of Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Mick McCarthy being the next Premier League manager to lose his job.

Some bookies are reported to have stopped taking bets on the Irishman's dismissal.

Wolves were dragged into the relegation zone on Saturday following their 3-2 defeat at home to Aston Villa.

Chairman Steve Morgan recently admitted that the team's run of eight league games without a win was "disappointing".

The Midlands club next host Liverpool in the league on Tuesday, January 31.
