Seven first-round FA Cup ties took place on a chilly Tuesday evening and the six of those that were replays were decided in 90 minutes as Carlisle, Wycombe, Newport, Grimsby, Oldham and Bristol Rovers progressed to round two.
The one game that was not a replay between Bury and Cambridge United finished as a goalless draw so they will need to go at it again in two weeks' time.
Read how it all unfolded across all seven games in our live updates below.

9.51pmThose second-round matches will take place on the weekend of 7-8 December. The winner of the Cambridge-Bury replay will host Sheffield United in the second round. Would be a big draw for Cambridge!
9.48pmFINAL SCORES! Here are tonight's seven results and what they mean:
Bury 0-0 Cambridge = Replay between the pair at the Abbey Stadium on Tuesday, December 3
Carlisle 2-1 Boreham Wood = Home tie for Carlisle against Brentford in round two
Crewe 0-2 Wycombe = Home tie for Wycombe against Preston North End in round two
Newport 1-0 Braintree = Away tie for Braintree at Kidderminster in round two
Scunthorpe 1-2 Grimsby = Home tie for Grimsby against Northampton in round two
Wolves 1-2 Oldham = Home tie for Oldham against Mansfield in round two
York 2-3 Bristol Rovers = Home tie for Bristol Rovers against Crawley in round two
9.44pmSo there we have it! The second halves were much more exciting than the first and in the end not a single game required the additional 30-minute period. The only game that did finish as a draw was Bury and Cambridge's rescheduled match. They will now contest a replay in two weeks' time.
90+6 minFULL-TIME: WOLVES 1-2 OLDHAM League One leaders Wolves crash out to Oldham, who will host Mansfield in the second round.
90+6 minFULL-TIME: CARLISLE 2-1 BOREHAM WOOD The League One side steal the win from their much lower-ranked opponents and will host Brentford in the next round.
90+5 minGOAL! Wolves pull one back in the final moments through Leigh Griffiths. Surely they coudn't take it to extra time?
90+5 minGOAL! LATE HEARTBREAK FOR BOREHAM WOOD! Carlisle steal it in the dying seconds as Mark Beck finds the net.
90+4 minFULL-TIME: NEWPORT 1-0 BRAINTREE The new Football League side hold off their non-league opposition and will meet Kidderminster in round two.
90+4 minFULL-TIME: CREWE 0-2 WYCOMBE Wanderers will host Preston North End in the next stage.
90+3 minFULL-TIME: YORK 2-3 BRISTOL ROVERS The Gasheads hold off a late York fightback to book a second-round tie against Crawley.
90+3 minFULL-TIME: BURY 0-0 CAMBRIDGE No extra time here as this wasn't a replay.
90+2 minFULL-TIME: SCUNTHORPE 1-2 GRIMSBY The Mariners will host Northampton in round two.
90 minInto stoppage time we go and as it stands only one game will be going to extra time as it's still Carlisle 1-1 Boreham Wood. Bury and Cambridge will have a replay if they stay level.
88 minAs we approach the final whistle these are the questions? Will Bury or Cambridge steal a winner? Can Boreham Wood hold out for extra time? Can Braintree take it to extra time against Newport? Will Grimsby down local rivals Scunthorpe? And can York complete an astonishing three-goal comeback?
84 minBy far the biggest attendance of the night is at Scunthorpe, where Conference side Grimsby have taken 2,000-odd fans. They're in fine voice right now as their side close in on victory over their East Coast neighbours.
82 minGOAL! Boreham Wood are pegged back by Carlisle as Lee Miller equalises for the hosts at Brunton Park.
80 minInto the final 10 minutes we go in the FA Cup then. There's only two matches, at Crewe and Oldham, which look to be over. All to play for in the others!
9.21pmINTERNATIONAL UPDATE! Incredible scenes in Stockholm as Ibrahimovic scores two quick goals to pull Sweden within one of the World Cup before Ronaldo scores two more to complete his hat-trick and book Portugal's place in Brazil. VIVA RONALDO!
73 minGOAL! Oldham do double their lead a moment later though!
72 minPhilliskirk has been all over the place for Oldham tonight and he's just hit the inside of the post. So close to 2-0!
72 minBury have a chance to snatch the lead against Cambridge but Miller is denied by a fine save from Maxwell.
71 minGOALS! Or not! Fletcher adds a second with a long-range effort to now make it 2-3 in York. At Gresty Road, Wycome are now 2-0 in front thanks to a Gary Doherty goal.
69 minGOAL! York score from a penalty as Wes Fletcher tucks home. My 1-3 pre-match prediction is looking good!
64 minOldham make their first change at what looks like a very empty Molineux...
64 minOldham make their first change at what looks like a very empty Molineux...
60 minSo, as we hit the hour mark, the only game without a goal is at Bury where Conference side Cambridge are doing all the pressing right now.
9.02pmINTERNATIONAL UPDATE: Cristiano Ronaldo scores a huge goal for Portugal and now Sweden need three in Stockholm. France are level on aggregate with Ukraine thanks to goals from Sakho and Benzema. In London, Germany lead England thanks to Per Mertesacker's header towards the end of the first half.
58 minChances at both ends at Molineux as Ikeme again denies Philliskirk while Leigh Griffiths has gone close for Wolves.
56 minGOAL! Grimsby restore their lead against Scunthorpe thanks to Clayton McDonald's header. His first goal for the Mariners!
53 minAt the JD Stadium, Conference leaders Cambridge are looking the more dangerous against Bury.
49 minChance for Oldham to take a shock 2-0 lead at Oldham but their first goalscorer Philliskirk is denied by a fine Ikeme save.
48 minGOALS! Two more goals as the second 45s begin at an electric pace. Bristol Rovers are now 3-0 up on York thanks to Chris Beardsley while Steve Craig has scored from the spot to give Wycombe the lead at Crewe.
46 minGOAL! Scunthorpe equalise in their local derby against Grimsby with a goal almost straight from kickoff!
8.45pmBristol Rovers are the only side with a two-goal lead and here's a picture of John-Joe O'Toole putting them ahead:
8.44pmIf Boreham Wood can see through that result it will emulate the 'cupset' that Brackley Town inflicted on Gillingham last night.
8.42pmThe biggest shock of the night without a doubt would be if Boreham Wood can beat Carlisle of League One. The Conference South side took the lead from the penalty spot and then were awarded another spot kick but it was saved!
8.40pmJust the six goals we've had then. As it stands, the matches at Bury and Crewe will be going to extra time.
8.36pmHALF-TIMES: Here are the scores after 45 minutes in tonight's seven games:
Bury 0-0 Cambridge
Carlisle 0-1 Boreham
Crewe 0-0 Wycombe
Newport 1-0 Braintree
Scunthorpe 0-1 Grimsby
Wolves 0-1 Oldham
York 0-2 Bristol Rovers
45+1 minGOAL! Newport take the lead against Braintree just before the break as Robbie Wilmott's free kick finds the net. Half-time whistles now being blown up and down the country.
44 minGOAL! Bristol Rovers are now two ahead at York as Oliver Norburn doubles the Gasheads' lead at Bootham Crescent.
41 minHughes whips over a free kick for Cambridge as they look to go ahead at Bury but Appiah heads wide.
37 minSo as we approach half time in tonight's FA Cup games there have been just four goals and all of them have been for away teams, with Boreham Wood, Bristol Rovers, Grimsby and Oldham leading at Carlisle, York, Scunthorpe and Wolves respectively.
8.23pmHere's an update from tonight's important international games: France have just taken the lead against Ukraine and now trail 1-2 on aggregate in their World Cup qualification playoff. It's 0-0 (0-1) between Sweden and Portugal while at Wembley, England and Germany are also goalless. Iceland's dream of a first World Cup berth looks to be over as they're 2-0 down to Croatia.
31 minANOTHER PENALTY TO BOREHAM WOOD! This time it's saved by Greg Fleming! Boreham Wood simply can't miss chances like that.
29 minGOAL TO BOREHAM WOOD! Garrard, the man who was brought down by Chimbonda, tucks home the penalty and the Conference South side's dreams of an upset are on!
28 minPENALTY TO BOREHAM WOOD AT CARLISLE! Pascal Chimbonda (yes him) commits the foul...
23 minGrimsby have a chance to make it two at Scunthorpe but the Mariners fail to get a decent touch on it and Scunthorpe keeper Slocombe grabs the ball.
20 minGOAL! I predicted an easy win for Wolves but they've gone behind to Oldham at Molineux as Danny Philliskirk finds the net after Wolves keeper Carl Ikeme seemed to be fouled. The referee consulted with his assistant before deciding to award the goal.
17 minBoth Crewe Alex and Cambridge United tweet that little has happened in their respective games against Wycombe and Bury.
16 minGOAL! Bristol Rovers take the lead at York City as John-Joe O'Toole bundles home a scrappy opener.
15 minAs well as these seven FA Cup matches tonight, there's some big international World Cup qualifiers and friendlies. I'll keep you posted of any big goals but you can also find our links to various commentaries by clicking here.
12 minRemember, apart from the Bury-Cambridge game, all six others can go to extra time and penalties if required as they are replays. Newport's Twitter feed continues to amuse: "The 14 Braintree fans are making a bit of noise behind the goal."
9 minGOAL! The deadlock is broken at Glanford Park where Lenell John-Lewis has put visitors Grimsby by finishing off after Colbeck had hit the post.
7.50pmNo goals after five minutes of play. Come on!
7.48pmNewport have just tweeted that goalkeeper Lenny Pidgeley (remember him?!) had a baby at 5.55pm tonight but is still playing! "Congratulations to @pidge40 on the birth of his new child at 5.55pm and for still playing tonight!"
7.46pmWe're now underway in all of tonight's matches. Where will the first goal come at?
7.44pmPREDICTIONS! Okey doke, just before we get underway, here are my predictions for the night ahead:
Bury 1-2 Cambridge
Carlisle 2-0 Boreham Wood
Crewe 3-1 Wycombe
Newport 3-2 Braintree
Scunthorpe 3-1 Grimsby
Wolves 4-1 Oldham
York 1-3 Bristol Rovers
7.41pmYork: Kettings, Oyebanjo, Fyfield, Whitehouse, Smith, Parslow, Clay, Montrose, Bowman, Fletcher, Jarvis
Bristol: Mildenhall, Smith, Parkes, Lockyer, Brown, Norburn, O'Toole, Clarke, Clarkson, Richards, Berardsley
7.40pmYORK VS. BRISTOL ROVERS: And finally tonight is two sides who sit next to each other in 19th and 20th in League Two. York host Bristol Rovers after an exhilarating 3-3 draw in the first tie. A home tie against Crawley Town awaits the winner of tonight's match at Bootham Crescent.
7.35pmWOLVES VS. OLDHAM: The biggest name on show tonight are Wolverhampton Wanderers, who drew 1-1 at Oldham last Saturday. Tonight the League One leaders play host to the Latics, with Mansfield Town waiting in the second round.
7.32pmSCUNTHORPE VS. GRIMSBY Another conference side, Grimsby Town, held Scunthorpe of League Two to a goalless draw 10 days' ago. Grimsby go into the match in fourth place in the Conference, while Scunthorpe are 12th in League Two. A visit from League Two's bottom club Northampton Town is in the next round. Teams to follow.
7.28pmNEWPORT VS. BRAINTREE: Conference side Braintree held Newport County to a 1-1 draw in the first leg and tonight the Essex side go to Rodney Parade. A trip to Kidderminster Harriers awaits in round two.
Newport: Pidgeley, Jackson, Oshilaja, Crow, Yakubu, Naylor, Chapman, Willmott, Jolley, Washington, Worley
Braintree: Hamann, Habergham, Peters, Isaac, Wells, Paine, Mulley, Davis, Marks, Holman, Daley
7.23pmCREWE VS. WYCOMBE: These two played out a 1-1 draw in the first match and now meet again at Gresty Road to determine who will host Preston North End in round two.
Crewe go into the match in the League One relegation places while Wycombe are placed in mid-table in League Two.
7.18pmThe teams for that game in the very North of England are:
Carlisle: Fleming, McSweeney, Chimbonda, O'Hanlon, Townsend, Amoo, Noble, Thirlwell, Robson, Miller, Guy
Boreham Wood: Russell, Nunn, Jones, Cox, O'Loughlin, Reynolds, Montgomery, Garrard, Lipman, Moli, Morgan
7.15pmCARLISLE VS. BOREHAM WOOD: League One side Carlisle were held to a goalless draw at Conference South side Boreham Wood 10 days ago. Tonight the minnows travel to Brunton Park looking to keep their run in the competition going. Boreham Wood have reached the second round just twice in their history and if they make it a third time they will host another League One side in Brentford.
7.08pmBURY VS. CAMBRIDGE UNITED: This is the only match tonight that isn't a replay. The first leg between the two was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch at Gigg Lane, which has since been renamed the JD Stadium.
Even though this tie pits a non-league side against a Football League one, just four places separate the pair. Bury are 21st in League Two and just a point off the bottom of the drop zone while Cambridge are six points clear at the top of the Conference. The winner of this match will host Sheffield United in round two.

7.04pmKickoff in all seven games is at 7.45pm. Before then I'll be giving you a brief lowdown on each of ties, starting at Bury's JD Stadium...
7.02pmEvening folks! There may be plenty of international action tonight but for fans of the 14 clubs involved tonight, the most important thing is a place in the second round of the FA Cup.
