Cambridge United's cup clash at Bury postponed

The FA Cup first-round clash between Bury and Cambridge United has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Gigg Lane.

Following heavy overnight rain in Greater Manchester, a pitch inspection was called on Saturday morning and the match was called off just after 11am.

The postponement will come as a blow for Bury, who were expecting a good gate, having reduced ticket prices for the game.

A new date for the clash will be announced in due course, but the rescheduling process will have to consider the fixtures of FC United of Manchester, who also play their home matches at Gigg Lane.
