Chris Kirkland close to Doncaster Rovers loan switch

Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Chris Kirkland is close to finalising a loan move to Doncaster Rovers, according to The Mirror.

The deal will keep the former England international at the Keepmoat Stadium until the end of the year.

Rovers executives are thought to be hoping to fix the move by the end of the week.

The club has moved off the bottom of the Championship table since the appointment of Dean Saunders as manager last month.
