Team News: Wigan Athletic make three changes for Watford trip, Maloney drops to bench

Wigan Athletic make three changes for their trip to Watford, with Shaun Maloney only fit enough for the bench.

Wigan Athletic midfielder Shaun Maloney is only fit enough to sit on the bench for their Championship game away at Watford this afternoon.

Maloney hasn't trained all week after suffering with an illness and his place has been taken by Roger Espinoza, in one of three changes from the side that lost at home to Norwich City last week.

There are also starts for Emmerson Boyce and Don Cowie, while Maynor Figueroa and Marc-Antoine Fortune drop to the bench.

Watford have kept the same XI that beat Fulham 5-0 last week, although goalkeeper Jonathan Bond isn't involved in the squad as a precaution after a collar bone injury.

Watford: Gomes, Cathcart, Bassong, Angella, Paredes, Munari, Tozser, Abdi, Anya, Deeney (c), Vydra
Subs: Gilmartin, Guedioura, Forestieri, Doyley, Pudil, Dyer, Ighalo.

Wigan Athletic: Carson, Taylor, McCann, Watson, McClean, McManaman, Boyce (C), Espinoza, Cowie, Perch, Barnett
Subs: Al-Habsi, Tavernier, Maloney, Forshaw, Figueroa, Fortune, Delort.
