Wigan Athletic winger Callum McManaman anticipates 'spicy' Brentford visit

McManaman expects 'spicy' Brentford game

Callum McManaman has said that this weekend's Championship match between Wigan Athletic and Brentford will have a "spice to it".

Wigan poached manager Uwe Rosler from Brentford last season, but the Bees still achieved automatic promotion under Mark Warburton and are now in the same division as the Latics.

Then this summer Wigan nabbed another Brentford asset by signing last season's League One Player of the Year, Adam Forshaw.

Wideman McManaman thinks that the above factors will make for a tasty encounter when Championship football returns this weekend after a two-week international break.

"There will be a spice to it and the atmosphere should be good with a few tackles going in," McManaman told the Latics' website. "I love these games."

Brentford go into the game seven points better off than Wigan with 17 from their opening 11 games. The Bees are 10th in the table, with Wigan just above the drop zone in 21st.
