James McArthur signs Wigan Athletic extension

Wigan Athletic midfielder James McArthur has signed a two-year extension that will keep him at the DW Stadium until 2016.

The Scot was a consistent performer in the centre of the park for the Latics this season as they secured an eighth consecutive campaign in the Premier League.

"I'm delighted to extend my stay at the club after what has been a fantastic season for Wigan Athletic and for me personally," said McArthur.

The 24-year-old joined Wigan from Hamilton Academical in 2010 for a fee of around £500,000.
