Jordi Gomez insists that Wigan Athletic are in a false position in the league.

Wigan Athletic Jordi Gomez has insisted that the club has gotten off to a good start in the Premier League despite lying 15th in the table.

The Spaniard believes the Latics deserve more points than they currently hold, and predicted that a successful season lies ahead.

"We should have more points than what we have got but, we will work hard to cut out any mistakes and to score more goals," he told the club's official website.

"In general I think the team has done quite well and I think it is going to be a great season for us.

"I like the ambition of the club that we always look to improve each year and that is why I came here in the first place."

Wigan are just four points off the top half of the league, and are due to take on Swansea City after the international break.
