West Ham United, Watford want Newcastle United defender Daryl Janmaat?

Premier League duo West Ham United and Watford are both reportedly interested in signing Newcastle United full-back Daryl Janmaat.

West Ham United and Watford are both interested in signing Newcastle United full-back Daryl Janmaat, according to reports.

The 27-year-old was part of the Newcastle side that suffered relegation to the Championship last season, and is thought to be keen on an immediate return to the top flight.

The Netherlands international played in the Magpies' opening two games of the new campaign, but lost his place in the side and has sat out the last two matches.

The Daily Mail now reports that West Ham and Watford have both enquired about the defender just nine days before the end of the transfer window.

Newcastle are reportedly looking for a bid in excess of £10m for the Dutchman, although neither West Ham nor Watford are willing to meet that asking price.

Newcastle have already lost Andros Townsend and Georginio Wijnaldum to Premier League clubs this summer, while Moussa Sissoko has been heavily linked with a move away.
