West Ham have ended their pursuit of striker Eidur Gudjohnsen after he stalled over a one-year deal.
The Icelandic international is a free agent after leaving Stoke City but is now believed to be linked with a move to Greek side AEK Athens.
The 32-year-old had passed a medical at Upton Park and was set to sign before hesitating over his contract. Manager Sam Allardyce decided that the deal was not right and withdrew the club's offer.
Gudjohnsen has worked with Allardyce before at Bolton Wanderers before moves to Chelsea, Barcelona and Fulham.
