West Ham release a statement in which they "categorically refute" reports that manager David Moyes will leave the club at the end of the season, regardless of relegation.

West Ham United have strongly denied reports that manager David Moyes will leave the club at the end of the season, regardless of whether he keeps them in the Premier League or not.

Moyes took over at the London Stadium from Slaven Bilic in November, but was only handed a six-month contract which keeps him at the club until the end of the current campaign.

A report in The Telegraph claimed that the Scot would not be kept on beyond the end of his short-term deal, but West Ham have now released an official statement in support of their manager.

"The club would like to place on record that it categorically refutes the claims made by the Daily Telegraph regarding manager David Moyes," read the statement on the club's website.

"There is absolutely no truth whatsoever to this story. As previously stated on a number of occasions, the club and David Moyes agreed a deal until the end of the 2017-18 season, at which point both parties will sit down and discuss the future.

"Until then, the board and David Moyes will continue to work closely together with the manager having full responsibility of footballing matters and the full support of the board. Everyone's sole focus is on trying to achieve results for West Ham United."

Moyes has lifted West Ham out of the relegation zone and up to 12th since his arrival, although the Hammers remain just three points clear of the bottom three.
