Gokhan Tore 'ruled out for up to five weeks through injury'

A report claims that West Ham United loanee Gokhan Tore has picked up a thigh injury which will keep him out for at least a month, adding to the Hammers' injury woes.

West Ham United's injury woes have reportedly deepened as summer recruit Gokhan Tore is expected to miss around five weeks of action through injury.

The 24-year-old is said to have suffered a quadriceps muscle problem which restricts movement in his thigh, leaving him on the sidelines for at least the next month.

According to The Sun, West Ham will look to send the Turkey international back to parent club Besiktas in the New Year should his problems persist, although there is no clause written into his contract to do so.

United forked out £2.5m to bring Tore to the London Stadium on an initial loan deal in the summer, which has already been paid in full, but he has made a disappointing start to the season and has had minimal impact in his five games so far.

West Ham currently have seven first-team players out injured, though Andy Carroll, Diafra Sakho and Aaron Cresswell are all understood to be close to returning.
