Troy Deeney thrilled by Watford win

Troy Deeney believes that Watford's 5-0 thrashing of Fulham was the team's best performance of the season.

Watford striker Troy Deeney has admitted that Friday's 5-0 win at Fulham was the team's best performance of the season so far.

Deeney netted a hat-trick at Craven Cottage last night as the Hornets ended their four-match losing streak in the Championship in emphatic style.

"We could have had seven, eight, nine," he told the club's official website. "There's still things we need to work on, but we'll take the positives from a 5-0 win and crack on.

"The way we started the game today was phenomenal. That's easily the best we've played all season. We started to look like our old selves."

Watford continue their Championship campaign next Saturday when they host Wigan Athletic.
