Watford's Troy Deeney: "I could cry"

Deeney: "I could cry"

Watford striker Troy Deeney has admitted that he feels for Leicester City for suffering a last-gasp 3-1 defeat at Vicarage Road on Sunday.

Anthony Knockaert failed to convert a late penalty for the visitors and 20 seconds later Deeney scored for his side to lead them to a 3-2 aggregate victory in the Championship semi-final playoff.

"I could cry," he told Sky Sports News. "It's heartbreaking, I feel for their guy who missed the penalty. It's a ruthless game and I'm happy we're the ones celebrating.

"It takes two teams to make a great game, give the Leicester boys their due. Their fans were fantastic, as were ours. Both teams gave everything.

"The occasion will be fantastic for the whole town. We can enjoy this for a couple of days and then get ready."

Watford will face either Brighton & Hove Albion or Crystal Palace in the final at London's Wembley Stadium later this month.
