Villarreal hopeful of Mateo Musacchio stay

Villarreal coach Marcelino Garcia Toral has revealed that he expects Mateo Musacchio to stay with the club this summer.

The 23-year-old defender has been heavily linked with Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks, while other clubs in Spain are also thought to be monitoring the youngster.

However, Garcia Toral is hopeful that the Argentine international will remain at El Madrigal for the immediate future.

"We expect a definitive solution for this week," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "I believe that Musacchio will stay with us but I cannot confirm this 100%."

Musacchio joined Villarreal from River Plate in 2009.
