Vancouver Whitecaps climb with Chivas USA win

Vancouver Whitecaps have jumped to fourth in the MLS Western Conference with a 3-1 victory over Chivas USA at BC Place.

However, Los Angeles Galaxy will go back above them should they defeat Portland Timbers at the Home Depot Centre.

It was the visitors who took an early lead through Tristan Bowen in the seventh minute, but the home side rallied in first-half injury time.

Firstly, Camilo Sanvezzo found Jordan Harvey to equalise before getting on the scoresheet himself two minutes later to leave the Red and Whites stunned.

Sanvezzo made sure of the points in the 81st minute, meaning that Chivas remain seven points adrift of San Jose Earthquakes at the bottom of the table.
