Valencia 1-1 Levante

Valencia failed to put clear daylight between themselves and Malaga in fourth place by drawing 1-1 at home to Levante this evening.

Hosting Valencia dominated large parts of the opening half before eventually going on to open the scoring in the 35th minute.

A quick break away fell to Sofiane Feghouli, who crossed for Brazilian international Jonas to slot into the net from close range.

However, nine minutes after the restart the away side got themselves level. Valdo flicked the ball on inside the area and Arouna Kone reacted quickest to score from ten yards out.

Valencia pushed hard for a winner during the remaining minutes, but both Jonas and Aritz Aduriz failed to find the target.

Pablo Hernandez also had a chance for the home side, but he struck the crossbar from a narrow angle as Levante held out for a share of the spoils.
