Valencia have this evening sacked their Argentinian coach Mauricio Pellegrino.

The decision comes after the club's 5-2 defeat at home to Real Sociedad this evening.

The club tweeted a quote from president Manuel Llorente that said: "We have been exchanging views, debate, and we made ​​the decision to dismiss Mauricio Pellegrino."

Tonight's loss left Los Che in 12th position in La Liga, 22 points adrift of league leaders Barcelona.
