Tabarez planning "party" at Confederations Cup

Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez has revealed that he and his players are planning to excite fans with a "party" at the Confederations Cup.

The South American nation take on reigning world and European champions Spain in Brazil tonight.

Tabarez has said that they are not at the tournament merely to make up the numbers and insists that his side will be looking to make an impression.

"We are arriving for a party and we will try to make ourselves seen, so we will not sit back," Tabarez told reporters.

"It is exhilarating to start against the world and European champions. Spain are a team that are great in ball possession, which they impose upon opponents. Unquestionably they are a superior team to us.

"We have a little hope and we will push forward with respect and belief. Our aspiration is to reach the next round, but we must work hard and well."

Meanwhile, Spain midfielder Xavi has talked up the talents of attacking trio Edinson Cavani, Luis Suarez and Diego Forlan ahead of tonight's game.
