Kane, Sterling start up front for England

Harry Kane will lead the England attack in their World Cup opener against Tunisia, with manager Gareth Southgate naming a starting XI with few surprise inclusions.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker will play off Manchester City's Raheem Sterling, who will operate in front of Dele Alli and Jesse Lingard.

Jordan Pickford starts in goal behind a front three of Kyle Walker, John Stones and Harry Maguire, who is preferred to the experienced Gary Cahill.

Liverpool's Jordan Henderson will take on a defensive midfield position, having been selected ahead of Spurs man Eric Dier.

Tunisia, meanwhile, have named former Sunderland winger Wahbi Khazri in their starting XI, even though a thigh injury has prevented him from playing since April.

In goal, Mouez Hassen is preferred to the experienced Aymen Mathlouthi, while Naim Sliti and Anice Badri provide the threat at the other end of the park.
