Phil Jones prepares for Old Trafford move

Phil Jones is expected to finalise a £16m move to Manchester United shortly, according to reports.

The Blackburn Rovers defender has also been on the wishlists of Liverpool and Arsenal, but Sky Sports News reveals that the Under-21s international is today undergoing a medical at Old Trafford with a view to signing a five-year deal.

Sir Alex Ferguson has been tempted by Jones since last year but it is thought that mounting interest from elsewhere has forced the issue.

A move to the Red Devils would unite the 19-year-old with fellow Under-21s defender Chris Smalling.
