Former England striker Emile Heskey has extended his contract with Newcastle Jets until 2014.
The 35-year-old, who moved to Australia last September, scored nine goals in 23 appearances during his first season for the club.
"I'm pleased to be extending my stay in Newcastle for another year," he told the club's official website.
"Everyone has made me feel very welcome here and I've really enjoyed my first season playing for the Jets.
"I'm looking forward to getting a full pre-season under my belt and helping the team push for a finals place next season."
Heskey scored seven goals in 67 caps for his country.
