Cologne hope to keep Podolski

Cologne have reiterated their desire to keep Lukas Podolski at the club.

The 26-year-old, who has two years left on his current contract, has hinted that he may leave the Bundesliga side at the end of the season.

However, the team are keen to keep hold of their prized asset.

"Lukas Podolski is our most valuable player at the moment," said general manager Volker Finke. "We want him to enjoy life at our club.

"And we will surely explore all possibilities to make him stay at Cologne in the future."

Cologne are currently 11th in the Bundesliga table.
