"I'm delighted. It's taken some time as I've had to check a few things with my family as my kids have started nursery but that's all sorted now. I came back on the first day pre-season because I knew at some point it would happen, so I wanted to make sure I hit the ground running with all the other lads," King told Bristol City's official website.

"I've enjoyed pre-season so far. It's been tough as the young lads are flying now, but the team spirit has been really good - it's been brilliant being back with everyone.

"We had a good week away in Austria last week and I think everyone can see the squad is shaping up really well, so we're really hopeful we can have a positive season."
