Morning all. So, how much money is going to change hands today, then? Yesterday James Rodriguez went to Real Madrid for a cool £70m - it's highly unlikely that figure will be beaten! Mind you, where the summer transfer window is concerned, you never know!

Let's begin with some of the stories that have been making the headlines over the last few hours:

Paul Lambert: 'Ron Vlaar is staying at Aston Villa'
Michel Vorm not fazed by Hugo Lloris competition
Louis van Gaal quiet on Javier Hernandez's future
Report: Loic Remy arrives in Boston for Liverpool medical
Ronald Koeman looking to sell Pablo Osvaldo this summer

We also have a lot more updates in our 8am Transfer Talk Update.

There could also be some movement where a manager is concerned in the near future. A report has claimed that Laurent Blanc is to leave Paris Saint-Germain in the near future and will be replaced by former Juventus head coach Antonio Conte.

DONE DEAL! Fulham have completed the signing of Arsenal youngster Thomas Eisfeld. More to follow shortly.

As promised, here are more details on Eisfeld's switch to Craven Cottage. The Germans has signed a two-year contract with the West Londoners, who have the option to extend that contract by a further 12 months.

DONE DEAL! Completed transfers are like London buses today! Barcelona have confirmed that they have completed the signing of defender Jeremy Mathieu from Valencia for around £16m. The story is developing here.

Someone else that has been linked with a move to La Liga is Fernando Torres, who is expected to be deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea. His former club Atletico Madrid are said to be interested, but according to a report this morning, they could well face competition from Monaco.

And for now, that is as far as I take you. However, Jack Prescott will be with you shortly to guide you through the next couple of hours. Over to you, Jack.

Thanking you, Liam. Right, a bit of news from the Championship now as Derby County defender Josh Lelan joins Swindon Town on a one-month youth loan. The 19-year-old centre-back is a product of Derby's academy, though he is yet to make a senior appearance for the Championship club.

Former Crewe Alexandra midfielder Abdul Osman has signed a one-year deal with Partick Thistle. The 27-year-old Ghanaian has moved to the Scottish Premiership side as a free agent following his release by Crewe earlier this summer.

Roberto Martinez has confirmed that David Henen will soon be an Everton player. The 18-year-old is believed to have undergone a medical at Everton's Finch Farm training base earlier this week after Anderlecht accepted a bid in the region of £1.5m for his services.

1PM TRANSFER TALK UPDATE! Catch up with all of the latest news and gossip from the summer transfer window with out afternoon round-up here.

Free agent David Worrall has joined Southend United on a two-year deal. The winger, 24, had been without a club after being released by Rotherham United earlier this week.

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has confirmed that the club is still trying to sign Fiorentina defender Marcos Alonso on a permanent deal. The Spanish full-back spent the second half of last season on loan at the Stadium of Light, helping the Black Cats to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

That's all from me for now, but Liam Apicella will be with you for the next couple of hours to take you through all of the latest news and gossip from the transfer window. Enjoy!

Thanks Jack and afternoon all. Some big money was spent yesterday afternoon, so let's hope that the same will happen today!

Could Thomas Vermaelen and Matija Nastasic be about to swap cities? One report has claimed that should Vermaelen leave Arsenal to link up with Manchester United, Arsene Wenger is keen to sign Manchester City's young centre-back Matija Nastasic as a replacement.

DONE DEAL! It's been a busy day for Fulham manager Felix Magath. Earlier today the club confirmed the arrival of Arsenal midfielder Thomas Eisfeld and now Adil Chihi has signed on at Craven Cottage. The Moroccan winger has most recently been playing in the Bundesliga with FC Koln.

Who was impressed by Yeltsin Tejeda at the World Cup? Well, if one report is to be believed, West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Irvine was. It's been said that the Costa Rica midfielder has been bumped up Irvine's wishlist at The Hawthorns as a result of his displays in Brazil.

Perhaps Costa Rica's most impressive performer at the World Cup, though, was goalkeeper Keylor Navas. The Levante stopper is said to be on the verge of joining Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez at Real Madrid. The Spaniards are going to have some team next season, that's for sure.

Some potentially big news for Manchester United fans this afternoon. A FIFA-registered agent has claimed that the Red Devils will secure the services of Arturo Vidal during the "second week of August". That really would be some coup for United, who are in desperate need of some improvements in the midfield.

And that is my stint done for today. Jack Prescott will now be returning and he will be taking you through until 7pm. Over to you, Jack.

Thanks once again, Liam. They've already got a championship-winning squad, but could Atletico Madrid be about to sign Javier Pastore? Atletico are reportedly eager to sign the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder. Manager Diego Simeone is believed to be in the market for a player to fill the void left by Diego Ribas, who recently joined Turkish side Fenerbahce.

Southampton are reportedly prepared to challenge Manchester United for the services of Stefan de Vrij. The Netherlands international has 12 months left to run on his contract with Feyenoord, who have accepted that the centre-back is likely to depart De Kuip this summer.

A quartet of clubs have reportedly made their interest known in signing Chelsea youngster Patrick Bamford on a season-long loan deal. The 20-year-old has impressed during recent stints with the MK Dons and Derby County and as a result, his parent club are eager for him to gain experience of playing in the Premier League.

Former West Ham United midfielder Alou Diarra has claimed that he wasted the past two years of his career at the club. The 32-year-old, who joined the Hammers in summer 2012, had his contract cancelled at Upton Park earlier this month.

Queens Park Rangers have reportedly had a bid turned down by Norwich City for their midfielder Leroy Fer. Netherlands international Fer only arrived at Carrow Road from FC Twente last summer, but following the club's relegation to the Championship, he is expected to move on before the transfer window closes at the end of August.

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has assured fans that he is prepared to "fight" for the club following his move from Atletico Madrid. The Spanish international arrived at Stamford Bridge last week in a deal worth around £32m.

Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer has revealed that Sheffield Wednesday have not made an approach for striker Leon Best. The 27-year-old has been linked with a return to the Owls after enjoying a successful loan spell at Hillsborough last season.

Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade has revealed that he is looking to boost his squad ahead of the new season. The League One club have brought in four new players so far this summer as they look to mount another promotion challenge.

Burton Albion have announced the signing of ex-Bradford City goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin on a one-year deal. The 26-year-old parted company with Bradford last week after failing to agree a new contract at Valley Parade.

That's all from me for today, but our very own Paul Gorst will be with you for the next few hours to keep you up to date with all of the latest developments in the transfer window...

Thanks Jack! Seeing as we're at the top of the hour, why not take at look at our 7pm Transfer Talk Update featuring Matija Nastasic, Xherdan Shaqiri and Arturo Vidal.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has hinted that his transfer business is yet to be concluded. The champions have so far added Willy Caballero, Bacary Sagna and Fernando to their ranks this summer, but the Chilean coach expects there to be more to come. Read the full story here.

Lukas Podolski has claimed that Sami Khedira would enjoy life at Arsenal - should the Real Madrid midfielder make the switch this summer. The Gunners have been linked with a deal worth around £20m for the Germany international, and his compatriot thinks that he would feel at home at the Emirates. Read the full story here.

DONE DEAL: It's all happening between Swansea City and Tottenham Hotspur this evening. The two clubs have confirmed that Spurs have signed Ben Davies and Michel Vorm, while Gylfi Sigurdsson has headed the other way back to his former club...

We'll have all the reaction from the three players to come. Stay with us here...

Both Sigurdsson and Davies have had their say on their own respective moves, and you can catch more on the deal involving three players here.

A FIFA registered agent has claimed that Manchester United will sign Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal before the transfer window closes. Giulio Tedeschi, a representative who works on deals across European football, believes that the Red Devils will sign the Chilean before the start of the new Premier League season. Read the full story here.

Liverpool Brendan Rodgers has claimed that he will not spend the £75m from the Luis Suarez sale on 'big-name' players who do not fit the right profile for the club. The Reds boss said: "Maybe for the media there is guessing how we spend the money but you only spend the money if the players are there. What we can't do is spend for the sake of it. The players we've brought in are players we wanted anyway." Full story to come...

As promised, here's that story from Brendan Rodgers and his reluctance to spend Liverpool's £75m on the pursuit of a 'big-name' player. Read the story in full here.

Well, that's all from this evening, I'll leave you in the capable hands of Mark Langshaw, who will be sure to have all the latest developments...

Thanks, Paul. I'll be here until 2am keeping you up to speed with all of the latest comings and goings in the transfer market, along with fallout from bids fruitful and otherwise.

Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani has insisted that he has no plans to leave the French capital, following reports linking him with a host of Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United.

Southampton have allegedly earmarked Feyenoord star Jordy Clasie as a potential replacement for Morgan Schneiderlin, who has been linked with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. Looks like Ronald Koeman won't be content until he's recruited the entire Dutch national team!

Benfica striker Rodrigo has joined La Liga side Valencia on a season-long loan. The Spaniard had a good season in Portugal, netting 18 times last term.

Fabio Borini's proposed move to Sunderland may not be as imminent as we have been led to believe. The Italian has been named among Liverpool's starting XI to face Roma in today's pre-season friendly. That saga looks destined to ramble on a little longer.

DONE DEAL: Lyon have signed defender Christophe Jallet from fellow Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain. Jallet is an experienced right-back with five France caps to his name.

Liverpool are said to have renewed their interest in Chelsea left-back Ryan Bertrand. The Reds were linked with the defender back in January, and are now said to have turned their attention back in his direction after missing out on Ben Davies to Tottenham Hotspur.
