Stephen Gleeson's late goal against Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park helps MK Dons shoot up to second in League One.

MK Dons have gone second in League One with a 1-0 win over Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park.

Ronny Moore's men looked like they might have escaped with a point after finding themselves second best for most of the match, but Stephen Gleeson's late goal saw Karl Robinson's men claim victory.

The visitors had plenty of efforts on Owain fon Williams's goal, as Dean Lewington, Ryan Lowe and Gleeson all came close to opening the scoring.

Their persistence finally paid off in the 87th minute, when Gleeson darted through to nudge the ball past Williams.

Rovers remain five points clear at the top of the table.
