Tranmere Rovers' Max Power: "We put up a good fight"

Tranmere Rovers midfielder Max Power feels that his side put in a spirited performance in their 6-2 loss to Swansea City at Prenton Park in their FA Cup clash.

Tranmere Rovers midfielder Max Power believes that his side showed plenty of fight in their 6-2 defeat to Swansea City in the third round of the FA Cup.

The League Two side fell three goals behind in the early stages of the second half, but Power got his team back into the game with a strike in the 70th minute.

Bafetimbi Gomis restored the three-goal cushion for Garry Monk's men, but Cole Stockton kept the match alive with a close-range header. However, Gomis and Wayne Routledge fired the Swans into the fourth round with late goals.

Power told BBC Sport: "We put up a good fight and gave a good account of ourselves so the lads aren't too downhearted.

"There was hope in our stomach when we pulled one back at 3-1, and again at 4-2, and we did think what might happen but they were just too good on the day."

Tranmere are next in action in League Two against Morecambe next week.
