Report: Shola Ameobi weighing up Sydney FC move

Former Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi is reportedly deliberating over a move to join Sydney FC.

The 32-year-old, who ended his 14-year stay with the Magpies last month, is said to be wanted by a number of English clubs as well as numerous Major League Soccer sides.

However, Sydney are hopeful that they will win the race for the free agent's signature, according to Sky Sports News.

Ameobi is currently on international duty with Nigeria ahead of this summer's World Cup, which gets away on Thursday night.
