League Two round-up

Swindon extend their lead at the top of the table while Dagenham & Redbridge fall to bottom of the football league.

Swindon Town extended their lead at the top of League Two this evening with a 4-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge, who dropped to bottom of the table.

Paulo Di Canio's men hit four second-half goals to consign the Daggers to the indignity of being bottom of the football league.

Swindon's title rivals Cheltenham Town lost ground on the Robins after they lost 3-1 to Morecambe, who moved up to 11th place with their win.

Southend also fell further behind in the title race as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Crawley Town yesterday.

Shrewsbury Town failed to take advantage of these results and move into the automatic promotion spots, only managing a 2-2 draw with fellow play-off hopefuls Oxford United.

Meanwhile, Port Vale put their off-field troubles behind them by beating Burton Albion 3-0.

At the bottom, relegation battlers Northampton Town, Plymouth Argyle and Hereford United all picked up points to move up the table and make the most of Dagenham & Redbridge's heavy defeat.

League Two results: AFC Wimbledon 1-2 Plymouth; Bradford 1-1 Accrington; Gillingham 3-1 Barnet; Macclesfield 2-2 Hereford; Morecambe 3-1 Cheltenham; Northampton 3-2 Bristol Rovers; Port Vale 3-0 Burton Albion; Rotherham 1-1 Crewe; Shrewsbury 2-2 Oxford; Southend 0-0 Crawley Town; Swindon 4-0 Dag & Red; Torquay 1-0 Aldershot.
