Garry Monk: 'Lukasz Fabianski committed to Swansea City'

Garry Monk insists that Swansea can "easily" keep hold of Lukasz Fabianski amid reports linking the goalkeeper with a summer move to Borussia Dortmund.

Garry Monk has claimed that Swansea City should have no problem keeping hold of Lukasz Fabianski amid apparent interest from Borussia Dortmund.

The Bundesliga giants are believed to be considering a summer move for the Polish keeper, who has impressed in his first season in Wales after joining from Arsenal.

Reports have claimed that the Swans have entered contract negotiations with Fabianski in order to tie him down and, although Monk is unaware of these supposed developments, he is confident that the 30-year-old will remain at the Liberty Stadium.

"We can easily keep him here," Monk is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "He's a Swansea City player and very committed to this club. "There's no reason to move and the conversations I've had with them tells me they are very much looking forward to next season.

"We've given him a great opportunity which he wanted, he's fought for this chance and deserved it. He's earned the right to have that opportunity, but players see the club going forward and they sense it every day."

Monk added on a possible new contract: "Whether his agents are discussing, or trying to discuss, with the club I'm not sure what level that's at. It's a possibility his agents have made contact with the club but I'm unaware of it."

Fabianksi has made 36 Premier League starts for Swansea this season - five more than he made in seven years at Arsenal.
