Swansea forced to alter pre-season plans

Swansea City's pre-season preparations have already been disrupted after their scheduled six-team tournament in America was cancelled.

Garry Monk's side were due to take part in the Texas competition alongside the likes of Malaga and Lyon, but they have now been forced to alter their plans ahead of the 2015-16 campaign.

"We will announce the new plans as soon as they are confirmed," read a statement on the club's official website.

"We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused our supporters."

The other teams scheduled to take part in the tournament were Chivas Guadalajara, Pachuca and Raja Casablanca.

Swansea ended the 2014-15 season in eighth place and with their highest ever Premier League points tally.
