Garry Monk: 'Unbelievable Swansea City are a force this season'

Swansea boss Garry Monk says that his troops are a "force" to be reckoned with after beating Manchester United for a third successive time.

Garry Monk has heralded his "unbelievable" Swansea City side following today's 2-1 win over Manchester United and suggested that they can be a real "force" this season.

Quickfire second-half goals from Andre Ayew and Bafetimbi Gomis saw the Swans cancel out Juan Mata's opener shortly after the break at the Liberty Stadium.

The win represented City's third successive victory over United, having done the double over them last season, and Monk says that his troops - whom he led to an eighth-placed finish last term - are a force to be reckoned with again.

"We enjoyed that," the 36-year-old, whose side also drew 2-2 at Premier League champions Chelsea on the opening day, told Sky Sports News. "In the first 20 minutes United started really well. We found it difficult to get any rhythm in the game.

"But second half we were magnificent. We got some excellent goals. We had the best chances in the game. The players were so brave today and we were clinical when we needed to be.

"We went to a diamond in the second half and that helped us. We felt they were overloading us a little bit in the middle. I think that helped us because we ended up getting two quickfire goals. We're a good team and we are a force in this league. When we're playing our best we can be unbelievable."

Swansea, who are also unbeaten after winning two and drawing two, sit fourth in the table.
