Garry Monk has revealed that Swansea City want to match their achievements from last season in the new Premier League campaign.
The Welsh side, who begin the new term with a trip to champions Chelsea, broke the club's record for highest points total in the Premier League. The haul was enough for the side to finish eighth, just missing out on a spot in the Europa League.
Talking to the media at the Premier League launch, the manager said: "We put a terrific amount of work in last summer but this close-season was much easier. I brought four players in and we have numbers and competition in the squad is high.
"Our aim is to better or achieve what we did last season, that was fantastic. The TV money has kicked in so teams are spending a lot of money on improving squads so the competition will be hard. That is why it is the best league in the world."
Swansea are unbeaten in pre-season, recording four draws and one victory in their friendlies ahead of the start of the 2015-16 campaign.
