Garry Monk: 'I knew Federico Fernandez would adapt to Premier League quickly'

Swansea City manager Garry Monk has praised the "quality" of defender Federico Fernandez, who signed for the Welsh outfit in the summer.

The 25-year-old, who has formed a partnership with Ashley Williams at the back, helped the Swans keep a clean sheet in last Saturday's goalless draw with Everton at Goodison Park.

"I knew the quality Federico had," Wales Online quotes Fernandez as saying. "I watched him many times.

"I did my proper analysis before I brought him here. I knew he would adapt to the game in the Premier League. He's learning very quickly and he's a good defender."

Swansea have conceded 10 goals so far in the league this season.
