Laudrup rejected 'big offers'

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup has revealed that he rejected approaches from some big clubs this summer.

The Dane guided the Swans to a League Cup win last season, as well as a ninth-place finish in the Premier League.

He was linked with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and a host of other clubs during the summer, but always intended to stay at Swansea.

"I've never been close to leaving because I said I would stay this season," Laudrup told Sky Sports News. "It's important to us.

"We still have to consolidate this team, this club and a promise is a promise - that's why I'm here.

"Yes, it's true, there were some approaches from big clubs, even from Champions League clubs, but I said I was going to stay here."

Swansea's captain Ashley Williams recently spoke about how pleased he was with the club's new signings.
