With a place in the second round of the EFL Cup up for grabs, Swansea City will face visitors Crawley Town at Swansea.com Stadium on Tuesday.

The Championship hosts began their domestic campaign on August 9, losing 1-0 against Middlesbrough, though their League Two opponents also lost last time out when they faced Newport County on Saturday.

Swansea come into Tuesday's clash after a poor offensive display against Middlesbrough, producing just one shot on target that originated from a set piece in the 27th minute.

The Swans only scored 51 times in the league last term, their lowest return in the past seven campaigns.

Alan Sheehan's side have reached the second round in the EFL Cup in the last two seasons, and they were eliminated from 2024-25's competition after losing 1-0 against Wycombe Wanderers in August 2024.

The hosts' defeat against Middlesbrough was their only competitive outing this term, but it was their third consecutive loss when including friendlies, a period in which they conceded on seven occasions.

Swansea were phenomenal at home in the final stretch of their most recent campaign, winning five, drawing one and losing just one of their last seven matches at their ground.

The hosts will be without defender Filip Lissah due to injury, so perhaps Samuel Parker, Kaelan Casey, Cameron Burgess and Josh Tymon will feature.

Swansea midfielders Melker Widell and Goncalo Franco could play behind number 10 Oliver Cooper.

Striker Zan Vipotnik is expected to lead the line, and he may be stationed between wide attackers Ronald and Ji-sung Eom.

Opponents Crawley have a fully fit roster to choose from, with the likes of Charlie Barker, Dion Conroy and Josh Flint candidates to play in a back three.
