Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has revealed that he has no fears about playing defender Santiago Vergini against Arsenal on Saturday.
Vergini is poised to start in place of the suspended Wes Brown in the clash against the Gunners, after making just his second start for the club in their FA Cup win over Southampton.
Poyet told the Sunderland Echo: "Santiago would have played last week against Manchester City if it hadn't been postponed. But the idea is to give him the chance to start a league game, so he will probably play at Arsenal.
"I know him, I've seen him and he's been training with us. I watched him in the games and he hasn't had any problems."
The 25-year-old joined the Black Cats on loan until the end of the season in January.
