Sunderland sign Santiago Vergini

Defender Santiago Vergini has completed a loan switch to Sunderland.

The 25-year old centre-back, who was on loan with Argentine Primera outfit Estudiantes from his Uruguayan parent club Atletico Fenix, will spend the rest of the campaign in the Premier League.

Vergini, who has been capped once by Argentina at senior international level, will wear the number 27 shirt at the Stadium of Light.
