Jordi Gomez has admitted that he is looking forward to working with Sunderland head coach Gus Poyet after joining the Black Cats on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old will complete his move to the Stadium of Light on July 1 after spending five years with Wigan Athletic.
Gomez believes that he will fit into Poyet's preferred style of play.
"I am looking forward to working with [Gus], and [the contract] is very good news," he told Sunderland's official website.
"He is a brilliant head coach and did a very good job last season. I am really happy to be working with him; he has good ideas and I like the way he wants his teams to play.
"I am happy to have a coach like him – I think my style will fit his ideas."
