Fletcher hopes for goalscoring improvement

Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher has revealed that he is eager to rediscover his touch in front of goal following a spell on the sidelines through injury.

The Scot returned to action at the start of the month after missing the whole of February with an Achilles problem.

Fletcher now hopes that an extended run in the team will see him finding the net on a regular basis.

"I need a goal and then hopefully a few more will come. I'm just concentrating on getting the minutes just now, and hopefully the goals will follow," he told the Sunderland Echo.

"Every striker wants a goal, and I need one to kickstart me. I haven't really had a run this season because of injuries, so it would be good to get one."

Fletcher has scored three goals in 24 games for Sunderland this season.
