Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio reportedly looks to repair his relationship with some of his players by offering them an extended holiday this summer.

Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio has attempted to appease his players by offering them a seven-week holiday this summer, according to a report.

The Italian faced a dressing room revolt after fining several of his players as well as criticising them in a press conference following the Black Cats' 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on the final day of the season.

Di Canio had previously threatened to cut short their break, but following recent events the 44-year-old has chosen to appease his squad and they will now return to training in the first week of July, according to The Sun.

Sunderland barely escaped relegation last season as they finished in 17th place in the Premier League.
