Jack Colback hails "best mate" Martin O'Neill

Jack Colback has said that Martin O'Neill's friendly approach has fuelled Sunderland's season.

The Black Cats have won 11 from 18 since O'Neill took over from Steve Bruce earlier this season.

"He treats everyone like they're his best mate, that's why he gets so much out of us," the midfielder said.

"For me, it can't come from anyone better than the manager giving you confidence and compliments on your game."

Sunderland travel to Goodison Park tomorrow to face Everton in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
